Triple Crown winner American Pharoah made his much-anticipated first appearance at Keeneland on Thursday in preparation for Saturday's Breeders' Cup Classic.
After rain Wednesday morning washed out plans for an on-track jog, owner Ahmed Zayat tweeted that his horse would go to the track Thursday.
Fans turned out. Keeneland made special free parking accommodations for those who wanted to watch.
American Pharoah had shipped into Lexington from California on Tuesday afternoon and settled into his barn on a rainy evening.
American Pharoah is the 6-5 morning-line favorite for the Breeders' Cup Classic, which goes to post at 5:35 p.m. Saturday.
