An historic month for Keeneland that includes its first Breeders' Cup and the likely farewell of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah begins Friday with the opening of its 17-day fall meet.

The month and season conclude with the $26 million Breeders' Cup being run in central Kentucky for the first time. Post times for the two-day championships have been released, including for the the $2 million Breeders' Cup Distaff on Oct. 30 (post time 5:35 p.m.) and the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic the next day (post time 5:35 p.m.), which will likely be American Pharoah's swan song before retirement.

There will be 10 races, including four Breeders' Cup events, on Oct. 30, with a first post time of 12:30 p.m.

Saturday will include 12 races — nine of them Breeders' Cup races — beginning at 11 a.m.

The final race order and guaranteed wagering pools for both days of the World Championships will be announced Oct. 22. The remainder of each day's card will be set after entries and post-positions are drawn on Oct. 26.
