Breeders' Cup: What you need to know if you're headed to the track

Parking at Keeneland will be limited to those with official pre-paid parking credentials. Vehicles arriving at Keeneland without an official parking credential will be turned away at the gate.


Three park-and-ride shuttle locations will be available Friday and Saturday. All park-and-ride parking passes include courtesy shuttles to and from Keeneland. Shuttles will run continuously, departing approximately every 15 minutes. Shuttling will also be available at certain locations on Thursday for Keeneland's Prelude to the Cup.

Park-and-ride prices:

Parking passes may be purchased online in advance for $20 per vehicle per day. Day-of parking passes may only be purchased at the Kentucky Horse Park and are $25 per vehicle per day. Your parking pass includes complimentary shuttle service to and from Keeneland for you and those in your vehicle as well as a free Breeders' Cup program for each person. Walk-up shuttle passes will be available at Rupp Arena only.

TRACK Admission

Tickets: Limited tickets are still available. Visit for details.

General admission: Children 12 and under are admitted free along with a paid adult. All general admission passes are being pre-sold. There are no event-day ticket sales.

Reserved seating: All patrons, no matter the age, must purchase a ticket for a reserved seat. All reserved seats are being sold in advance.


Gates open: 10 a.m. Friday; 9 a.m. Saturday

First post Friday: 12:30 p.m.

First post Saturday: 11 a.m.

■ Umbrellas

■ Sunscreen (non-glass containers only)

■ Cell phones, cameras, and camcorders

■ Binoculars

■ Purses and baby bags (subject to search)

■ Strollers (only if carrying a child — no other items allowed)

These items are banned on Breeders' Cup days

■ Alcoholic beverages

■ Outside food or beverages inside admission gates

■ Backpacks

■ Balloons, balls or Frisbees

■ Duffel bags

■ Hardside coolers (except for on The Hill)

■ Glass bottles or containers

■ Grills

■ Wagons

■ Weapons (including knives)

■ Halloween full-face masks

■ Folding chairs

■ Selfie sticks


The designated tailgating lot, called "The Hill," is adjacent to Keene Barn and Entertainment Center. The area offers food trucks, a jumbo TV screen, merchandise kiosks, restrooms and cash bars. Here are some rules of The Hill:

■ Off-duty uniformed officers patrol these lots each day.

■ Open bars and kegs are not permitted.

■ Laws pertaining to disorderly conduct and underage drinking will be strictly enforced.

■ Dumping of hot coals on the ground is strictly prohibited.

■ No soliciting.

■ Only certain areas are designated appropriate for tents.

■ Tents must be no larger than 20 feet by 40 feet unless approved by Keeneland Security. Call (859) 288-4296.

■ Excessive commercial signage is not permitted.

■ Beer kegs are not permitted and will be confiscated.

■ No DJs or amplified sound is allowed.

■ Tents can go up once you arrive on site each event day and must be removed after the races are over for that day. No tents are allowed to remain overnight.
