Keeneland streamlining parking for spring meet

Nick Nicholson, president and CEO of Keeneland, said the track has spent "thousands and thousands" of dollars in renovations to make it easier for cars to get in and out of the park for the spring meeting, April 2-23, which is expected to draw about 30,000 people per day.

Measures include borrowing shuttles from the state fair, removing medians and laying down gravel roads.

Mayor Jim Newberry said there would be an increased police presence to help direct traffic in the interest of both safety and convenience to visitors.

Nicholson said more changes are on the way, and the public's input on the project is welcome.
