Keeneland adjusting pool for 2-race wager
Because of what Keeneland called human error on the part of United Tote, the track adjusted the pool for the Maker's Mark/Toyota Blue Grass Double wager late Friday. It was determined that the pool did not close at the proper time, inadvertently allowing additional wagers into the pool.
After investigation, it was determined that the impact on the pool was minimal, the track said.
Keeneland officials were working late Friday with its simulcast partners to identify tickets that need to be removed from the pool.
An adjusted pool and potential payoffs are expected to be announced Saturday morning.
Keeneland officials said they are working with the Kentucky Racing Commission to ensure the integrity of the wagering process and that Keeneland maintains compliance with state wagering regulations.
"We regret that the situation occurred and apologize for any inconvenience to our patrons," said Robert Butcher, Keeneland's director of mutuels.
