Final furlong

■ Nicholasville-based Ken and Sarah Ramsey are on pace to shatter the Keeneland record for most wins by an owner during a meet. After Thursday's card, the Ramseys already have nine wins, three away from the record of 12. The Ramseys, who won 12 races in taking the 2012 Fall Meet title, share the record with Calumet Farm, which won 12 during the 1941 Spring Meet, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roberts, who earned 12 during the 1968 Fall Meet.

■ Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens earned his first win at Keeneland since October 2005 on Thursday, booting home Fast Bobbi J in the fourth race. Stevens came out of retirement in January after seven years away from the saddle and displayed his trademark calm Thursday after Fast Bobbi J broke in the air and spotted the field several lengths before mounting her charge on the final turn. "It never gets old, especially when you didn't think you'd be doing it again," Stevens said after the win. "Keeneland is so special to me."

■ Palm Beach Stakes winner Rydilluc completed his major preparations for Saturday's $750,000 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes by breezing through the stretch Thursday morning at Keeneland. With exercise rider Ricardo Orantes up, Keeneland clockers began timing Rydilluc at the three-eighths pole for the move that produced fractions of :13, :24.60 and 3 furlongs in :37.40. Rydilluc galloped out a half-mile in :51.60.
