The Lexington Legends lost both games of a doubleheader on Wednesday night to close the home portion of their South Atlantic League season.
The Augusta GreenJackets won the opener 4-0 and the nightcap 5-3 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Lexington, 62-72 overall, will end the season with a four-game series at Hagerstown starting Friday night.
Augusta hit three solo home runs off Lexington starter Gerson Garabito (4-4) in the first game Wednesday. Shawon Dunston Jr., son of the former major-league shortstop, hit his first home run in 160 at-bats this season to give Augusta a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Sandro Fabian homered in the second inning and Michael Bernal went deep in the fifth.
Augusta starting pitcher Connor Kaden and reliever Nolan Riggs combined to hold the Legends to four hits.
Augusta hit two more home runs in Game 2: Kelvin Beltre’s solo shot in the fourth and Skyler Ewing’s two-run blast in the fifth.
Lexington managed five hits in the second game. Vance Vizcaino drove in two runs.
