Bello gets first win in nearly two months

Anthony Bello pitched seven solid innings for his first win in nearly two months, and the Lexington Legends defeated the RiverDogs 3-1 in Charleston, S.C., Tuesday night.

Bello (3-5) gave up six hits and one run, walking one and striking out one. The 22-year-old left-hander was 0-3 in his previous four starts and hadn't won since May 17.

Jordan Powell worked two perfect innings in relief for his fourth save of the season.

The Legends struck in the first inning when Matt Cusick hit a leadoff triple and scored on Craig Corrado's grounder to second base.

Charleston tied the game in the fourth inning, but Lexington took the lead for good in the fifth. Cat Everett led off with a double and came around to score on a Brandon Barnes single.

Steve Brown added Lexington's final run in the seventh.
