Pellegrini's 16th HR lifts Legends

The Lexington Legends got back on the winning track with a 6-3 victory at Delmarva on Monday. The night before, the Legends had a four-game win streak snapped.

Left fielder Brian Pellegrini hit his 16th home run of the season, a three-run shot off Brian Parker (6-4), to give Lexington the lead for good, 5-3. Third baseman Kyle Miller hit a home run in the ninth. It was his fourth in nine games with the Legends.

Jake Leonhardt pitched six innings, giving up three runs on four hits, to improve to 4-10. He had five strikeouts. Jay Pacella pitched the ninth inning, giving up only a walk, for his 11th save.

The Legends' early runs came in a two-run fourth inning. Eric Taylor singled in Steve Brown with two outs. Bryan Brown, who walked just before Taylor batted and moved to third on the hit, stole home for the other run.
