When: Tuesday through Friday (7 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday; 11 a.m. Wednesday)
Probable starters: (Legends listed first) Tuesday, RH Jordan Lyles (1-1, 3.12) vs. RH Wilfredo Boscan (1-1, 0.84); Wednesday, RH Ross Seaton (1-1, 1.64) vs. LH Martin Perez (0-1, 3.38); Thursday, LH Brad Dydalewicz (1-0, 0.00) vs. RH Carlos Pimentel (0-0, 4.22); Friday, RH Robert Bono (2-0, 0.00) vs. LH Richard Bleier (1-0, 0.75).
Legend to watch: RHP Robert Bono (6-2, 175, from Waterford, Conn.) is scheduled to start Friday. Drafted out of high school by the Astros (11th round, 2007), Bono suffered through back-to-back 0-4 seasons at Greeneville and Tri-City despite steady improvement. In two starts for the Legends, the 20-year-old has been sharp over 11 scoreless innings. He has scattered 10 hits, walked nobody and struck out five. He has retired 19 batters on grounders, eight on fly balls.
Crawdad to watch: LHP Martin Perez (6-foot, 178 pounds, from Guanare Estado Portuquesa, Venezuela), Wednesday's starter, is rated by Baseball America as the fifth-best prospect in the Texas Rangers' organization. Perez, 18, has two "plus" pitches, according to BBA: a lively 90-94 mph fastball and a late-breaking curve. He has thrown two four-inning outings this season, yielding three earned runs, four hits and five walks, with 12 strikeouts.
