Legends suffer first road loss

The Lexington Legends' hitting woes continued, but their good pitching did not Tuesday night.

The Legends managed just two hits and four baserunners and fell 12-0 to the Hickory Crawdads in a South Atlantic League game at Hickory, N.C.

The defeat was the Legends' first road loss and dropped their record to 7-6.

Shortstop Jacob Kaase had four hits, and right fielder Michael Bianucci went 3-for-3 for Hickory. Bianucci raised his average to .405. The Crawdads were 8-for-17 with runners in scoring position.

Hickory scored once in the first and twice in the second against Lexington starter Jordan Lyles (1-2). The hosts broke open the game with two runs in the fifth and five in the sixth.

Hickory starter Wilfredo Boscan (1-1) worked seven shutout innings to lower his earned run average to 0.51.
