Lakewood rallies in 4th inning

The Lakewood Blue Claws scored eight runs in three innings and beat the Lexington Legends 8-2 in Lakewood, N.J., on Saturday night.

Lexington took the lead in the second inning when Albert Cartwright tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris Jackson.

The Legends added another run in the third. Andy Simunic walked to lead off, stole second, advanced to third on Jay Austin's sacrifice and scored when Michael Diaz grounded out.

But Legends starter Kyle Greenwalt got in trouble in the fourth. Jeremy Hamilton's triple scored Jim Murphy, who had been hit by a pitch. After Zach Collier walked, Troy Hanzawa singled, scoring Hamilton and moving Collier to second. Both runners moved up on a wild pitch, and Collier came home on an infield out by D'Arby Myers.

The BlueClaws scored three more in the fifth inning and tacked on two in the sixth.
