Martinez, 4-for-4, sparks Legends win

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Lexington Legends recorded their first win of the 2010 season Friday night, a 7-2 over the Charleston RiverDogs.

After an opening-night loss, Rodney Linares notched his first win as manager of the Legends.

Right fielder J.D. Martinez was 4-for-4, including a two-run homer and three singles. Martinez' homer was part of a three-run rally in the fifth inning.

The Legends sent nine men to the plate in the seventh, when they added three more runs.

Winning pitcher Arcenio Leon came on in the fourth inning in relief of starter Juan Minaya. Leon pitched 31⁄3 innings, allowed no runs, struck out four and walked two.

The third game of the four-game series is scheduled Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
