Lexington breaks tie with three-run sixth

The Lexington Legends broke open a 3-3 game with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and defeated the Greenville Drive 6-3 Sunday at Applebee's Park.

Designated hitter Jake Goebbert was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Jonathan Meyer had a two-run double for Lexington.

In the Lexington sixth, Grant Hogue walked and was sacrificed to second by Jose Altuve. Jiovanni Mier followed with a single to score Hogue with the tie-breaking run. Mier took second on a throw to the plate, and came home on a single by J.D. Martinez to make the score 5-3. Goebbert's double scored Martinez with the final run.
