Homers by Kyle Jensen and Chad Cregar helped Greensboro build an early lead, and the Grasshoppers defeated the Lexington Legends 7-4 on Thursday night in Greensboro.
Jensen hit a two-run homer in the second inning, and Cregar, a former Western Kentucky star, added a solo shot in the third to put Greensboro in front 3-0.
The Legends' Kody Hinze had an RBI single in the fifth inning to increase his league-leading RBI total to 44. The Legends stranded 16 runners in the game.
Former Lexington Christian Academy and University of Kentucky star Chris Wade had two hits and an RBI for Greensboro.
Jose Cisnero (2-2) took the loss for Lexington. Cisnero gave up six hits and six runs — all earned — over five innings. He struck out six and walked three.
J.D. Martinez and Brian Kemp each had three-hit games for the Legends. Martinez's double in the fifth inning was Lexington's only extra-base hit of the game.
