Lexington Legends first baseman-designated hitter Kody Hinze was named South Atlantic League Player of the Week for the second straight time.
It was the first time a player has won the award in two consecutive weeks since Rome's Freddie Freeman did it in July of 2008.
From May 17-23, Hinze (pronounced HINN-zee) batted .346 with four doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI.
The previous week, Hinze hit .500 with 11 hits, two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI.
Through Sunday's games, Hinze led the South Atlantic League in home runs with 12, RBI with 50, and slugging percentage at .619. He was fourth in the league in batting average at .329.
"It gets better every week seeing Kody's hard work pay off for him," Legends General Manager Andy Shea said.
