The Hagerstown Suns hit three home runs and took their third straight victory over the Lexington Legends with an 8-3 win Thursday night in Maryland.
The Legends dropped the four-game series ahead of a five-game trip to Delmarva. They won three of four against the Shorebirds in Lexington last week.
After three straight solid outings, Lexington starter Tanner Bushue (5-7) gave up six earned runs, including two of the homers, on five hits in 62⁄3 innings.
He had allowed three total runs over his last 18 innings coming into Thursday's game.
Legends first baseman Kody Hinze increased his South Atlantic League-leading RBI total to 80 with a no-out line-drive single in the eighth to score Jake Goebbert. That came after Goebbert drove in the Legends' first two runs with his SAL-high 36th double. But the Legends' rally ended after Aaron Bray hit into a double play and, two batters later, Rene Garcia grounded out. Goebbert is tied for fifth on the RBI list with 69.
