Carlos Willoughby drove in two runs during a three-run second inning Saturday, and added a third RBI in the fourth inning as the Augusta GreenJackets went on to a 5-1 victory over the Lexington Legends at Whitaker Bank Ballpark to open a four-game series.
Former University of Louisville star Jeff Arnold, who doubled in the first run of the game, added a home run in the sixth inning off Legends starter Michael Foltynewicz (0-4), who would exit the game one batter later.
Augusta's Taylor Rogers (1-3) spread seven hits over seven innings and had five strikeouts.
The lone Legends run came in the fourth inning when Tyler Burnett singled, Daniel Adamson was hit by a pitch and Roberto Pena singled to load the bases. Burnett scored when Delino DeShields Jr. grounded into a force play. Rogers would pick off DeShields on first to end the threat.
