Outfielder Emilio King, who joined the Lexington Legends earlier in the day, had a single, a double and a home run as the Legends held on for an 8-6 win at Hagerstown on Saturday night.
The Legends built a 7-0 lead after 41/2 innings. Chris Wallace started the scoring with a solo home run in the second inning, his eighth of the year. Adam Bailey's RBI double in the third gave the Legends a 2-0 lead.
The Legends added five runs in the fifth. A double by Wallace, a walk to Jhonny Medrano and a single by Tyler Burnett produced one run. A balk by Hagerstown starter A.J. Cole allowed Medrano to score, giving the Legends a 4-0 lead. King doubled, scoring Burnett, and Jiovanni Mier and Bailey added RBI singles.
Hagerstown came back on a two-run homer by Jason Martinson in the bottom of the fifth and added four more in the seventh to pull within a run at 7-6.
King's solo homer in the ninth provided an insurance run.
Tanner Bushue (5-0) worked the first six innings and picked up the win. Hagerstown has won two of three in the series, which concludes Sunday.
