Rome cruises past Legends for split

Edward Salcedo and Chris Garcia homered as the Rome Braves earned a split of their four-game series with Lexington by defeating the Legends 7-3 Saturday night in front of 6,299 fans at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

Rome built a 5-0 lead after four innings capped by Salcedo's two-run home run, which followed a hit batsmen by Legends starter Juan Minaya (1-4).

The Legends answered in the bottom of the fourth with singles by Chris Wallace and Mike Kvasnicka.

They were later driven in on a triple to right field by Daniel Adamson. Jhonny Medrano then doubled Adamson home and cut the Rome lead to 5-3.
