Duvall, a former University of Louisville star who leads the South Atlantic League in homers, nearly tied it in the bottom of the ninth. But his long fly to deep left field was caught by Enrique Hernandez just short of the wall. Duvall had homered in each of the first three games of the series.
Alaniz (5-4) pitched 62⁄3 innings and allowed four hits and one run. Gabriel Garcia pitched 12⁄3 innings of relief, and Jorge DeLeon pitched the ninth for his eighth save.
