Legends zap Power's ninth-inning threat, get the shutout

Adam Bailey hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning and made a diving catch in right field for the last out of the game as the Legends defeated the West Virginia Power 2-0 Tuesday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

With one out in the sixth and Enrique Hernandez on at first base, Bailey lined a homer over the fence in right center field. It was his 16th home run of the year, second-best in the South Atlantic League.

The Power threatened in the ninth. With one out, Cole White doubled. He advanced to third on a fly out by Elias Diaz. Chase Lyles walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch as White held at third. Kevin Mort hit a fly ball into right center field, and Bailey made the diving catch to end the game.

Carlos Quevedo (6-4) threw seven shutout innings to get the win. He allowed three hits while striking out three. West Virginia starter Tyler Waldron (6-4) was the loser, allowing two runs in six innings of work.

Brian Streilein worked the eighth and ninth innings to pick up his fifth save of the season for the Legends.
