Lane's power surge can't lift Legends

Bryce Lane's first two home runs of the season weren't enough for a Legends victory.

The Hagerstown Suns hit two of their own — including a two-run homer by Michael Taylor in the seventh inning — and beat the Legends 4-2 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark on Saturday night.

Hagerstown scored a run in the first inning and another in the third on a David Freitas homer.

Lane, a left fielder who bats ninth in the order, ended a 40-game power drought in the sixth inning with his first home run in 118 at-bats. He homered again in the eighth.

Lane, who entered the game with a .205 batting average, had two of Lexington's five hits.

Christopher McKenzie (3-3) pitched six innings for the win. Luis Cruz (1-2) took the loss.
