Taylor Rogers became the first Augusta starting pitcher this season to throw a complete game, holding the host Lexington Legends to just four hits in a 5-0 win in the opener of a four-game series.
Rogers got his eighth win of the season, striking out four and walking one batter.
Only two Legends got hits. Mike Kvasnicka had two singles, and Ben Orloff had a single and double. Rogers retired the first 11 hitters before Kvasnicka singled in the fourth.
Augusta did most of its hitting early, getting six of its nine hits and all five runs in the first two innings off starter Tanner Bushue. Chris Lofton and Ryan Lollis capped the four-run second inning with run-scoring doubles.
Murilo Gouvea was a bright spot for Lexington, striking out six in five innings of relief. He struck out 10 in a four-inning relief stint Saturday.
