Leadoff hitter Delino DeShields homered to break a tie in the top of the eighth inning and the Lexington Legends held on to beat the host Greenville Drive 6-5 in a minor-league baseball game Friday night.
Deshields was the first hitter to face Greenville reliever Nefi Ogando, who took the loss.
The Lexington second baseman had also stolen a base and scored on a sacrifice fly by Matt Duffy in the fourth inning. Duffy also had two hits.
Shortstop Alex Todd had two hits, scored a run and knocked in a run for the winners.

Evan Grills got the win for 12⁄3 scoreless innings in relief of Jonas Garcia. Jason Chowning pitched two scoreless innings for his fourth save of the season.
In the Lexington fourth, John Hinson knocked in a run with a double and scored on a fielder's choice.
The teams played copycat through the middle innings, each scoring two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the sixth, but Greenville didn't respond to DeShields' shot over the left-field wall.
Center fielder Henry Ramos had two hits, including a double, and knocked in two runs for Greenville.
