Delino DeShields Jr. rallied the Legends with a single and a steal of third base to set up Zach Johnson's sacrifice fly for the 4-3 win over the visiting Hagerstown Suns Friday night.
DeShields singled to start the ninth and moved to second on a passed ball. After Jordan Scott walked, DeShields stole third, his South Atlantic League-leading 20th steal of the season.
Starting pitchers Nick Tropeano of Lexington and former University of Kentucky star Alex Meyer of Hagerstown kept the game scoreless until the sixth when Lexington broke through with three runs.
With one out, Matt Duffy walked, stole second and moved to third on a single by Drew Muren. Brandon Meredith singled to left field, scoring Duffy. John Hinson grounded into a force-out at second as Muren took third. Roberto Pena then capped the inning with a double to left-center, plating Muren and Hinson and staking the Legends to a 3-0 lead.
