The Bengals are learning to get along without a cornerback who is also one of their cornerstones.

Leon Hall tore his left Achilles tendon in a loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday, ending his season. The Bengals (6-3) will try to stay in contention in the AFC North without one of their most indispensable players.

"If you would ask me, I'd say we built this defense around Leon and that's the honest-to-God truth," safety Chris Crocker said.

A trial for Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones has been delayed until next year.

The non-jury trial previously scheduled for Thursday in Hamilton County Municipal Court in Cincinnati will be Jan. 18, after the regular season ends.

Jones is charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Packers DL Jolly sentenced to 6 years in prison

Suspended Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly has been sentenced in Houston to six years in prison for violating the terms of his probation on a drug charge.

Jolly was charged with possession of a compound containing codeine and tampering with evidence after a traffic stop in October. It was his third drug arrest in three years.

Vick misses practice again

Michael Vick didn't practice for the second straight day Thursday because of broken ribs, and it remains uncertain whether the Pro Bowl quarterback will play when the Philadelphia Eagles visit the New York Giants on Sunday night.

49ers RB Frank Gore will be ready for Arizona

Frank Gore's injured right knee has healed enough to practice on and the two-time Pro Bowl running back expects to play for the San Francisco 49ers when they host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Gore had his franchise-record streak of five straight games with 100 or more yards rushing end when he got hurt.

The two-week window allotted by the NFL for teams to place a franchise tag on their own free agents swings opened Tuesday and there has been rampant local speculation that the Eagles will do just that with quarterback Nick Foles – even though the move makes almost no sense at all.
