The Pittsburgh Steelers added former University of Kentucky running back Braylon Heard to their roster on Wednesday.

Heard, who wasn't selected in this year's NFL Draft, will take the place of fellow running back Cameron Stingily, who was placed on the waived/injured list.

Heard, who transferred to Kentucky after two seasons at Nebraska, ran for 368 yards and four touchdowns in one season with the Wildcats. He also had 21 receptions for 108 yards.

Heard participated in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' minicamp in May, but he was not signed by the team.
