Lexington youth bowlers win $5,400 in scholarship money

Megan Hedgespeth of Campbellsville captured her second Lindon Memorial Youth Challenge Tournament title Sept. 13 at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland.

Hedgespeth, who also won in 2014, earned $650 in scholarship money.

The boys' winner was Kaleb Miller of Bowling Green, who earned $750 in scholarship money. Jacob Horrell of Lexington won $550 in scholarship money as the runner-up.

The girls' second-place finisher was Jenna Coldiron of Cincinnati, who earned $450. She also won the inaugural tournament in 2013.

The event drew 64 young bowlers from Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, West Virginia and New York. They competed for a total of $5,400 in scholarship money.

Jacob Horrell won the boys' entry to the 2016 Junior Gold Tournament in Indianapolis, and Kelsey Latta of Mayfield won the girls' entry.
