Area bowlers had a hot week, turning in three games just shy of perfection.
On Monday, Ellen Coomer fell one pin short, posting a 299 in the 600 Club League at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland. Coomer left a solid 10-pin on her last ball, and the the 299 paced a 682 series.
Also Monday, Chip Aki rolled a 298 in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland. Aki, who has rolled multiple 300s, used his near-miss to highlight a 729 performance.
Mike Barker was the third to fall shy. Barker posted a 299 in the Friday Night Fun league at Eastland.
