The annual Kentucky State Women's Bowling Tournament concluded last month in Danville with Lexington's Power Play team taking the title.
Power Play — Teri Tucker, Cole Phillips, Melanie Fairchild, Pam Grimes and Melinda Craig — rolled a 3,083 handicapped total at Bowlarama Lanes.
Fairchild teamed up with Ellen Coomer to take the doubles crown with a 1,354.
Darrel Hunt's 846 series paced a hot week for bowlers at Collins-Southland. Hunt posted 277-290-279 in the Beltline League. Kevin Goldsmith came close to perfect with a 299 in the same league to pace a 705 series.
LABA Hall of Famer Bill Carrithers rolled a 298 game in a 770 series in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Southland.
