Ambidextrous Fitch rolls 804

Lexington Area Bowling Association hall of famer Frank Fitch continued the season's high-scoring trend last week with an 804 series. Fitch rolled his score in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland on Jan. 24.

Fitch, who posted games of 290-237-277, is no stranger to award scores. In fact, he has rolled several with each hand. Fitch is one of only a handful of USBC members to have rolled a 300 game and an 800 series with each hand. Last week's score was right-handed.

■ Steven Fagan, one of the top youth bowlers at Southland, had a nice performance last Saturday. Fagan, rolling in the King of the Hill competition, rolled a 1,068 for four games. He was the fifth qualifier for the step-ladder event and rolled games of 234, 290, 265 and 279 to win the event. Fagan defeated Mac Hart in the finals.

■ The Bluegrass Senior Women's Tournament entry deadline is Feb. 26. The tournament is March 13 at 2 p.m. at Southland. Entry forms are available at all area bowling centers. The event is open to USBC-sanctioned women age 55 and older.
