The 64th annual Kentucky Open Championships will be July 22-24 in Louisville. The scratch event is open to all USBC-sanctioned bowlers. The tournament has men's and women's divisions, and the event will use four venues in Louisville.

The first block will be rolled on Friday, July 22, at 6:30 p.m. at Executive Strike & Spare. The second round will be at 9 a.m. July 23 at Dixie Bowl and the third at 3:45 p.m. July 23 at Shively Strike & Spare. The finals will be held July 24 at AMF Rose Bowl Lanes.

The men's first prize is $1,500, and the women's is $900. Both the men's and women's winners will receive a paid entry to the 2012 U.S. Open Tournament.

Louisville's Tony Lambert and Alisia Kellow are the defending men's and women's champions. Lexington's Melinda Craig was the women's runner-up last year, and Melanie Fairchild of Nicholasville was fourth. Craig is a four-time champion in the event (1993, 2003, 2008 and 2009). Fairchild won in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

The only men's bowler from Lexington to win was Chip Aki in 2005.

Entry forms are available at all area centers, and the fee is $150.
