Bowling: Stephens earns third 800 of season in Lexington

Kenny Stephens rolled the third 800 of the young season with an 826 on Aug. 24 in the Friday Night Fun League at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland. Stephens rolled games of 278, 290 and 258.

Matt Cracraft had a perfect game on Monday in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland. Cracraft's 300 paced a 762 series.

■ Lexington's youth league will begin on Saturday at Southland, with a big change. Nancy and Bill Hohensee retired last season after running the program for 32 years.

The Hohensees were instrumental in organizing the high school bowling program as a club sport, and it is now a KHSAA varsity sport.

Bill Hohensee said he is going to miss working with the kids but that it was time to let someone else take the reins. However, he will continue in his role as president of the local USBC Youth Association.
