Bowling: Craig's 805 season's first award score for a woman

Local bowlers continued their scoring assault on the lanes this past week with an 800 and a pair of 300 games.

Melinda Craig rolled the first award score this season by a woman with an 805 on Sept. 24 in the 600 Club League at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland. Craig had games of 257-258-290 in the series. Craig, no stranger to high scores, has led the local women in average 16 of the last 17 seasons.

Kyle Fight rolled his first career 300 in the Friday Night Fun League at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland on Sept. 21.

Ben Davis, a youth bowler in the program at Southland, rolled a perfect game on Sept. 22. His 300 paced a 724 series.


Oct. 20: The Lexington USBC Hall of Fame Luncheon and Awards Ceremony will be held at the Clarion Hotel on Newtown Pike at 1 p.m. The cost is $20 per ticket and those are available from any Lexington USBC officer or director.

This year's inductees are Nancy Hohensee, Kenny Stephens and Julie Whitaker.
