After unexpected losses to Miami and Cleveland — and with games upcoming against Denver and the New York Giants, this one almost rises to must-win status. Coach John Calipari has talked about how his young Kentucky basketball team might be vulnerable to an upset early this season, but here's a game the Wildcats are sure to win. The team's annual Blue-White Game in Rupp Arena gives fans their first competitive look at the squad that will defend UK's national championship. (7 p.m., WKYT-27, Fox Sports South)
Major League Baseball's 108th World Series gets under way with the Detroit Tigers in search of their first championship since 1984. Henry Clay represents the 11th Region at the state volleyball tournament at Valley High School in Louisville. The Blue Devils take on 16th Region champion Russell in the first round, one of eight games on opening day. The quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be held Saturday. (1 p.m.)
