Team sets city record for 5-man series

The KASP team in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland set a city record for a five-man team series on Oct. 22 with a 3,683.

The quintet rolled games of 1,216, 1,179 and 1,288. The mark tops the 3,674 by the Dunn Financial Group team on Oct. 29, 2001, at Southland.

The KASP team was led by Brian Williams' 803 series that was highlighted by a 300 in the third game. Williams was followed by Darrel Hunt (763), Greater Lexington USBC Hall of Famer Bill Carrithers (728), Carl Swinford (728) and Brad Williams (661).

It has been a great three weeks of bowling for Brian Williams. He has had another perfect game and a 290 in that time span.

■ The Greater Lexington USBC Hall of Fame Luncheon and Awards Ceremony will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Ramada Inn on North Broadway. Tickets are $20.

This year's inductees are Nancy Hohensee, Kenny Stephens and Julie Whitaker.
