The 2012-13 season was a high-scoring season for local bowlers. The Greater Lexington USBC had 29 series of 800 or better and 52 perfect games, topping last season's totals of 14 and 46, respectively.
Greater Lexington USBC Hall of Famer Kenny Stephens rolled four 800 series.
Melinda Craig had the lone 800 by a woman, posting an 805. Only one woman — Jean Almaria — rolled a perfect game.
Local youths had five perfect games and two 800 series. Jonathan Gilbert rolled two perfect games, while Braxton Hatton, Jacob Hulette and Jacob Yazell had one apiece. Shane Dunsing and Yazell rolled the two 800 series, each posting an 803.

The new season for local youth leagues will begin Sept. 7. There will be signups at both Collins locations on Saturday, Aug. 24 and 31.
