Strong follow-up to Lexington bowler's perfect game

Eric Grimes had the hot hand for a second straight week. He rolled an 825 series in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland on Oct. 7, sandwiching a 299 game between a 290 and 236.

Grimes rolled a perfect game in the Wafford league the previous week.

Josh Hickam rolled an 801 series — 256-266-279 — in the Aroundtown League at Southland on Oct. 3.

Josh Pardi just missed out on a perfect game on Oct. 7. He had a 299 in the Wafford league. That score highlighted his 707 series.

■ Denis McGinity won the Super Seniors Division of the Kentucky State Seniors Tournament, which was held Sept. 28-29 at Richmond. The Super Senior Division is for bowlers age 75 and above.

McGinity rolled a 1,345 actual six-game total. His 110-pin handicap gave him a 1,455 total score. McGinity's two series were a 690, highlighted by a 258 game, and a 655.

McGinity qualified for the National Seniors Tournament to be held at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev., on July 7-9, 2014.
