The Bluegrass Senior Bowling Club held their 28th annual tournament March 8 at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland. The winners were:
■ Super Senior division for ages 75 and up: Elizabeth McKenna (685 handicapped) and Larry McPherson (711).
■ A Division for ages 70-74: Frances Magee (692) and James Beirne (694).
■ B Division for ages 65-69: Kathy Stephens (675) and Tom Cape (765).
■ C Division for ages 60-64: Lee Hempel (693) and Joe Arnold (691).
■ D Division for ages 55-59: Becky Flora (634) and Stanley Shelton Sr. (646).
■ E Division for ages 50-54: Carla Sparks (673) and Robert Gale (660).
Winners advanced to the State Seniors Tournament. The women's event will be Oct. 3-4 in Ashland. The men's event has not been scheduled.
More award scores
There were three more award scores in Lexington leagues this past week.
Jimbo Rodgers led the scoring parade with an 812 series on March 10 in the Beltline League at Southland. Rodgers bowled games of 278, 278 and 256 for his second 800 series this season.
■ Josh Pardi came close to an 800. He had a perfect game as part of his 798 series on March 6 in the Friday Night Fun League at Eastland. Pardi followed his 300 with a 256 and a 242.
■ Brian Scheper rolled his first 300 on March 9 in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Southland. Scheper opened with a 225 and finished with a 226 for a 751 series.
The three award scores brought the season's total to 14 800 series and 33 perfect games.
