Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton premiere new song
Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton have put their music alliance on the record with “Say Something,” a new song from Timberlake’s forthcoming album, “Man Of The Woods.”
Stapleton’s career took off when he was joined by Timberlake for a performance on the 2015 CMA Awards, the same night Stapleton stunned country music taking home three trophies for his solo debut, “Traveller.” Since then, the Johnson County-raised songwriter and performer has stayed atop the charts with that album and his subsequent “From A Room” records. And he and Timberlake have reunited on stage, but the song is their first joint recording.
The song premiered at noon Thursday on YouTube in a single-shot video directed by Arturo Perez Jr. for La Blogothèque.
The release starts a busy weekend for Stapleton, who will make his second appearance on “Saturday Night Live” at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and he will perform on Sunday night’s Grammy Awards with Emmylou Harris. Stapleton is up for two trophies: Best country album for “From A Room: Vol. 1” and best country song for “Broken Halos.” Timberlake will be in the spotlight next weekend, with “Man Of The Woods” coming out Feb. 2, and he will perform the Super Bowl halftime show Feb. 4.
