Stars hit the Kentucky Derby red carpet
The Kentucky Derby red carpet was filled with celebrities Saturday afternoon, with stars such as Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly and actors Josh Duhamel and Jon Voight talking meeting the press and showing off their fashions.
The red carpet was full of elegant dresses, big hats and a few surprises.
Country singer J.D. Shelburne shocked Amy Whitham, his girlfriend of six years, by dropping on one knee and proposing in the middle of the red carpet.
Attorney Star Jones, known for her time on ABC’s The View, drew attention as she brought her dog Pinky along on her Derby day. Jones wore a pink hat and Pinky wore a gold one.
Tanya Tucker was one of the few singers that did a mini-performance for reporters on the red carpet. She sang a few bars of Delta Dawn.
Star of the CW’s hit show Arrow Stephen Amell, World Cup ski racer Lindsey Vonn and CBS This Morning’s Gayle King were just a few of the other celebrities that ventured to the Bluegrass for the most exciting two minutes in sports.
Even the Stanley Cup took a stroll down the red carpet.
Many celebrities cited different aspects of the Derby as their favorite part of the experience, but most of them ultimately agreed on the most important part: the race.
Kelly said she’d be betting on Suddenbreakingnews, because breaking news always wins.
