Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza, the artisan pizzeria coming to 341 South Limestone, will open on Aug. 13 and will host a "free pizza day" on Aug. 14.
The pizzeria traditionally offers free pizza to introduce the product to new customers, who often line up around the block. Each customer can build one free 11-inch pizza with any toppings, according to the company.
Blaze is known for the fast-cooked pizza — the super-hot oven cooks each pizza in only 3 minutes — so the line should go quickly.
Blaze will be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Aug. 14. Normal business hours will be 11 a.m. to midnight, with extended hours Thursday through Sunday when the University of Kentucky is in session.
The restaurant, across from Two Keys Tavern, will have seating for 60 inside and an additional 20 seats on an outdoor patio. Known for custom-built artisanal pizzas with a crisp crust, Blaze features an interactive assembly-line format that lets guests create their own artisanal pizzas, choosing as many toppings as they like from a wide selection of house-made sauces, fresh vegetables and hand-selected meats and cheeses for less than $8.
The Lexington restaurant will be the eighth for the Millennial Restaurant Group, which is developing the concept in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia.
