The building at the corner of Short Street and Limestone, most recently home to The Jax, has been leased Tim and Mark Adams, who plan to bring back The Upstart Crow, a former bar and restaurant that was at Broadway and Angliana in the 1970s.

The new incarnation will feature the original 1896 mahogany bar from the first Upstart Crow, Tim Adams said.

"It will be a new American tavern, serve lunch and dinner, and have a 'resurgent' happy hour," Adams said.

He said they hope to open in early September.
