Oak Springs Grill at Fayette Mall will open on Monday, and the first 100 will receive offers for free items, according to a news release.

The restaurant, which was formerly an Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant, was renovated by Food Concepts International and is the first of a new concept.

The new restaurant will feature rich, dark woods, a massive red oak tree, plus unique artifacts and décor that are representative of the gracious style and flair of Kentucky, according to the announcement. The restaurant will also include a private, dining area featuring a full wall of bourbon barrel ends. The restaurant will seat approximately 200 guests and will employ 70 employees.

On opening day the first 100 guests who are seated beginning at 11 a.m., will receive a special “Flavors of Kentucky” calendar that includes offers for free items monthly for the next 18 months. The calendar offers are valued at more than $200 and include coupons such as a free Steakhouse Burger in June, a free appetizer in July, a free Grilled Chicken Salad in August, running through November 2017. Call 859-971-0922 for reservations.

Commerce Lexington will also host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. at the restaurant.

Oak Springs Grill’s menu features a made-from-scratch comfort food and grilled items cooked over an open-flame oak-fired grill.

It also features a large lineup of bourbons and whiskeys, Lexington-brewed craft beers, as well as a wide selection of wines, served by the glass or bottle.
