Frankfort teen to compete for national title in Orlando

Abigail (Abby) Quammen, 17, of Frankfort, is the newly crowned Miss Kentucky Outstanding Teen. Quammen attends Lexington Catholic High School, where she will be a senior this fall. She is the daughter of Charlene and Jeff Quammen and has one sister, Allison.

Abby is a singer, actor and dancer and has appeared on stage in Woodford and Fayette counties. Her personal platform is Read to Succeed. She and Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton have teamed up to create and promote Bluegrass Buddies Reading, a program to encourage Kentucky children to read more. Currently, Abby is preparing to compete in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen national competition in Orlando at the end of July.
