She denied taking another customer’s wallet at Walmart. Video says otherwise.

Lexington police are asking for help finding a woman who took another customer’s wallet at Walmart.

A woman who had just checked out at the Walmart on Richmond Road told police that she accidentally left her wallet on the counter next to the register on Sept. 3, police said in a news release.

Realizing her mistake, the woman went back within a few minutes, but the wallet was gone. The woman who had been behind her in line denied having the wallet, but surveillance video shows the customer picking up the wallet and placing it in her purse.

Lexington police released surveillance video on Saturday that shows the woman taking the wallet.
