Fire damages vacant house on Haskins Drive
A fire damaged a vacant house at 541 Haskins Drive, off Newtown Pike, on Thursday night.
The cause was not immediately known.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m., a neighbor reported smoke coming from the house, Battalion Chief Todd Samuelson said.
“On arrival we found some fire in the upstairs bedroom,” Samuelson said. “Our crews made an interior attack and were able to extinguish the fire.”
One room was damaged, and there was smoke damage throughout the house, he said. Samuelson said he didn’t know how long the house had been vacant.
