Morehead mother is accidentally shot with son’s gun
A Morehead mother was in stable condition Wednesday after she was accidentally shot by her son’s gun, according to Kentucky State police.
Jereen R. Stamper, 39, who was shot in her left side, was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital in West Virginia about 7:30 p.m.
Her juvenile son’s .22-caliber pistol fell from his holster and hit the ground as he dismounted a horse at 1270 Stamper Ridge Road, police said.
Police said the investigation is continuing.
