Albany man charged with murder following afternoon altercation

A 27-year-old Clinton County man has been charged with murder following a scuffle Monday afternoon.

Travis S. Slone, of Albany, was at a residence on Wolf River Dock Road when he shot James Guffey, 53, following an altercation, said Kentucky State Trooper Billy Gregory in a news release. Guffey was also from Albany.

Guffey was pronounced dead at Clinton County Hospital.

Slone was arrested at 5:27 p.m. and is currently detained in the Clinton County Jail, Gregory said.
